Wakeboard, the sport that is born from the fusion of water skiing and snowboarding, allows to maintain the fitness while having fun with the wonderful backdrop of Lake Como.
Initially called Skurfing is a recently-spread sport practiced both in marine and lake contexts as well as in lakes. The athlete is towed by a particular motorboat on a foam board or glass-coated glass resin, which allows him to reach 40 km of hours.
Unlike skiing and snowboarding, the feet maintain the same position, guaranteeing great stability and maneuverability. The entire muscular and articulation chain of the body is employed by developing its resistance.
It is practiced indifferently by men and women with benefits both on the body and on the mind. Physical effort allows you to stay fit in water with a high adrenaline level that reduces stress by affecting neurotransmitters responsible for a state of euphoria.
Thanks to the wakeboard you can train the heart and lungs by improving agility and balance on a beautiful aquatic panorama. By exploiting the waves created by the boat it is possible to make jumps and stunts.
In the approach to the wakeboard, it begins with different forms of drag and propedeutic situations aimed at the use of the real table. Inflatables are used in training instructors and students to overcome fear of speed, engine and trajectory changes.
Then tools are used more and more similar to the boards, although with larger surfaces that allow greater control of the balance. Learned to dominate the board, basic techniques are being put into practice.
It is also possible to practice wakeboarding in Cable, better known as Full Size Cable, which consists of a system that allows you to use a set of trimmers positioned outside or inside the water and connected by a rope.
