Christmas in Como - The City of Toys
A great come-back in Como this year, one of the most appreciated events for both kids and adults. The city this year transforms itself again into the Città dei Balocchi!
The Christmas Spirit is spreading on the Lake Como, with the typical stands of sweets and handmade products, the ice-skating rink and the famous Christmas decorations projected on the walls all around the city.
Last Sunday I went to Como with the hydroplane, crossing the entire Lake from Domaso to Como, a great way to see the lake from another perspective and for making memories with my family.
Once arrived in Como, well, there is a lot to see and to do! On the lakeside there is a magnificent ice-skating rink with a wonderful view!
I loved strolling down the streets from Piazza Cavour to the city centre, visiting all the little wood houses of the Christmas stands.
The handmade and gastronomic typical products can be a perfect gift for your friends and family.
And for the little ones… Santa Claus has really come to town! He is waiting for you in the Tempio Voltiano Park for listening your wishes, and next to his house there is also the Arctic Polar Mail Office where to send your Christmas mail.
But what makes the Città dei Balocchi so special are the lights and the luminous installations, projected on all the main buildings of the city centre. It makes me feel like the protagonist of a Christmas movie, surrounded by lights and brilliant colours.
During the stroll… mmmh, a delicious smell comes from the food and beverage stands, and their enogastronomic specialities.
I enjoyed a glass of Vin Brulè and a cone of Sciatt, to warm myself and fill my appetite. For my son a chocolate sweet, what a glutton!
Before coming back to Domaso, I fell in love with the view from the big wheel: the lake surrounded by all the coloured Christmas lights.
Every time, an unforgettable experience.
