Visit Lake Como: the beautiful Villa la Gaeta
Residence Il Giardino di Lory suggests to visit an unmissable gem of Lake Como: Villa La Gaeta. The villa was built in the twenties by Gino and Adolfo Coppedè for industrial Ambrosoli and takes its name from the peak on which it stands. It was built on the site of an earlier building, with a particular style that is very eclectic. It has the shape of a medieval and Renaissance castle while the grounds are of the Art Nouveau period. There are two towers, one overlooking the lake and the other towards the hills. In 1940 the villa became the property of the Counts Gerli, today it has been restored and divided into apartments. In the spring of 2006, the movie Casino Royale was filmed in front of this villa (the last scene of the movie when Bond shoots and meets Mr. White, and utters the famous words "Bond... James Bond").
